About the PMC
Today I’ve committed to raising money for cancer research by riding in the 2012 Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC). On the first weekend in August, I will join 5,500 cyclists in the PMC ride, an annual bike-a-thon that raises money for research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DCFI) in Boston.
My story is simple….We are family who has been touched by cancer and WE ARE FIGHTING BACK!
2009, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer….Surgery, chemo, radiation and a NEW BEGINNING……….
I am 2-years out and count every day as a blessing….Cancer is scary, crappy, hurts people and has taken too many of our family and friends. So, we do the only thing we can…We MOVE ON, LIVE LIFE, and enjoy TIME! Through my cancer journey, I found that one of my favorite activities (besides talking hahhaha) is cycling….and I do A LOT of it…It makes me happier, healthier and is a chance for me and our family to make a difference in the war on cancer.
Riding the Pan-Mass Challenge has been a dream of mine and this year I am READY to commit my time and energy to training and reaching the fund raising minimums.
I need to be fit enough to complete the ride. That is a feat in itself. You see, I am approximately 2-years “cancer-free” and have cycled myself from obesity to being in my body mass index range. I am proud of those facts. My motivation has been to live longer, be a better person and to help others navigate through there cancer journey. I like the Pan-Mass Challenge, because 100% of the donations go toward finding a cure for cancer. A cure for any cancer is important, and there is a lot of progress. WE NEED MORE…..I am sick of cancer, what it has done to me, my family, and friends. So, I will do the work and training to help anyone, in any way possible. What I need is people like you to donate to, support and sponsor me. Every dollar counts. So, please either donate through this secure site….
The link at the end of this email will take you to my Pan-Mass Challenge Profile. This is my personal fundraising website. Join me in reaching this year’s goal. Last year’s gift to the Jimmy Fund of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute represented 100% of all donations, and brought the 32 year total to $338 million.

I hope I can count on your support
The PMC raises more money for charity than any other single event in the country, $338 million since 1980 and $35 million last year alone! This success is the result of a lot of people riding for, and caring about, a cure. And because every penny matters, 100 percent of your donation goes to DFCI.
I’ve made a personal commitment to ride and raise $4,300. So I hope you can help me achieve this significant goal.
